Features of ParsecDeepSky, the deep sky astronomy photography app
ParsecDeepSky, a deep sky astronomy photography app, is a macOS only app created using development tools and APIs provided by Apple Inc. ParsecDeepSky is an INDI Client that supports your deep sky astronomy photography by controlling INDI supported equatorial mounts, motorized focusers, filter wheels, cameras, etc.
The most distinctive feature of ParsecDeepSky is that it supports multiple telescopes and cameras mounted on a single equatorial mount, allowing simultaneous shooting with multiple cameras, and also allows multiple equatorial mounts and shooting systems to be controlled simultaneously from a single Mac. Each equatorial mount is controlled from a single window.
In addition, like many similar apps, it can detect stars from the captured image and control the electric focuser to perform autofocus. When introducing celestial bodies, it has a star chart display function, so you can select and introduce celestial bodies that you have photographed from the star chart. When introducing celestial bodies, you can use plate solving to perform introduction correction in cooperation with external tools such as ASTAP or Astrometory.net, and introduce the target celestial body to almost the center of the filed of view.
The star chart display function uses the Hipparcos and Tycho2 catalogs for star data. For nebulae and star clusters, OpenNGC is used, and for planetary positions, DE440 is used.
